22 Jul FOX31 Denver Wins 15 Heartland Regional Emmy Awards Including “Best Evening Newscast”
FOX31 Denver (KDVR-TV) won big at the annual Heartland Regional Emmy Awards Saturday night. The station won in fourteen categories, including the coveted Best Evening Newscast award, which honored both FOX31 Denver News at 5pm and FOX31 Denver News at 9pm. The station also won Best Weekend Newscast for the weekend edition of FOX31 Denver News at 9.
“I couldn’t be more proud of the team! They pulled off an evening news hat trick winning Emmys for the 5pm, 9pm news and weekend evening newscasts,” said Vice President/News Director Holly Gauntt. “It’s truly a testament to what a great team can accomplish.”
FOX31 Denver reporter Justin Joseph won an Emmy for Continuing Coverage for his investigation into the death of Weld County mother, Ashley Fallis. His investigation led police to reopen the case and later charge her husband with her murder.
Chris Halsne, FOX31 Denver Investigative Reporter, was awarded an Emmy for Investigative Report – Series for his report “Force, Ethics and Denver Police.”
