17 Jul KIAH-TV Honored for Excellence in Community Service
The Texas Association of Broadcasters has honored KIAH-TV/CW39 with the 2013 Bonner McLane Public Service Award for its outstanding community service contributions.
Named after the longtime executive director of the TAB who died in 1987, the Bonner McLane Public Service Awards celebrate six Texas radio and television stations each year for excellence in public service within local communities.
“KIAH’s commitment to public service over the past year has clearly improved the Houston community’s well-being and stands as an example to all broadcasters,” said Oscar Rodriguez, President of the Texas Association of Broadcasters, “Not only did the station’s work directly benefit members of the community, in some cases it laid a foundation for sustaining growth well into the future. Houston is a better place to live because of the good work by KIAH.”
The award will be presented at the 2013 TAB Convention & Trade Show, August 7-8 in Austin, Texas.
