17 Jul FOX31 News Awarded 13 Heartland Emmys Including Overall Excellence
Jeremy Hubbard Wins Best Anchor
July 17, 2017 – KDVR, Tribune Broadcasting’s Denver FOX station, won 13 National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ Heartland Emmy’s Saturday night, including the prestigious overall excellence award which FOX31 won for the second year in a row.
“Winning an Emmy is an honor, and it’s extra special to take the top award that represents work from our entire team,” said Joan Barrett, VP and General Manager of KDVR-TV.
Winning the back-to-back Emmys for overall excellence comes at time of momentum for FOX31 News, which has achieved eight consecutive periods of ratings growth.
FOX31 reporters also took home Emmys for investigative and environmental reporting, business and technology stories, magazine programs and feature segments.
“Our reporters work hard every day to get the story right,” said Linda Kicak, KDVR’s Acting News Director. “Everyone wins when good journalism is rewarded.”
FOX31 anchor, Jeremy Hubbard, was awarded the Emmy for best anchor for the second year in a row. He also won four additional Emmys for his reporting and specials.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by your peers,” said Hubbard. “Knowing that Colorado families trust FOX 31 for their news is what really makes us proud.”
The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) and the Emmy Award honor outstanding achievement in the television industry. The NATAS Heartland Chapter includes television markets in Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska and Oklahoma.
