16 Jul FOX31 News Awarded 16 Heartland Emmys
Jeremy Hubbard wins Best Anchor for the third year in a row
DENVER, CO – July 16, 2018 – FOX31 Denver, Tribune Broadcasting’s FOX affiliate, today announced the station was awarded 16 National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences’ Heartland Emmy Awards, including the prestigious Best News Anchor for Jeremy Hubbard and Best Reporter / General Assignment for Ashley Michels.
“Being honored by your peers is such an accomplishment, and having so many of our team take home top awards reminds us that there’s tremendous momentum at FOX31,” said Joan Barrett, VP and General Manager of FOX31.
The FOX31 team also took home Emmys for spot news, investigative and environmental reporting, business and technology stories, magazine programs and feature segments.
“Our team received a lot of honors at this year’s Emmys. What sticks out in my mind though is the impact of the storytelling, the people impacted in those news events we covered, and the impact many of these events have on our community, said Brian Gregory, FOX31’s News Director. “Each day, we look for creative ways to report the news that impacts our community, dig deeper to cover the truth, all while making sure we get the details and facts right every time. I’m pleased to see so many of our journalists honored for doing that job.”
FOX31 anchor, Jeremy Hubbard, was awarded the Emmy for best anchor for the third year in a row (the fifth time he’s won in the category). He also won seven additional Emmys for his reporting and specials.
“It’s an honor to be recognized by your peers,” said Hubbard. “Knowing that Colorado families trust FOX31 for their news is what really makes us proud.”
The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) and the Emmy Award honor outstanding achievement in the television industry. The NATAS Heartland Chapter includes television markets in Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska and Oklahoma.
