KFOR TV receives more Emmy nominations than any TV station in Oklahoma
June 3, 2019 – Oklahoma City, OK – KFOR Oklahoma’s News 4, a division of Tribune Broadcasting, today announced it has received 10 Emmy Award nominations from The Heartland Regional Emmy chapter. From the outstanding Moore tornado special reports with the 4 Warn Storm Team’s Emily Sutton to the special series on Caleb Freeman and his brave recovery from a traumatic brain injury, Oklahoma’s News 4 garnered more Emmy nominations than any other Oklahoma TV station.

Oklahoma’s News 4 is celebrating its 70th anniversary as Oklahoma’s first TV station. It originally signed on as WKY-TV in June of 1949 and remains the local news and weather leader in the state. “Oklahomans know they can turn to News 4 for stories with emotion and meaning. It’s fitting to receive these 10 Emmy nominations as great journalism has always been an integral part of our news and weather DNA, ” said Wes Milbourn, President and General Manager of KFOR Oklahoma’s News 4 and KAUT Freedom 43 TV.
Oklahoma’s News 4 produces more news broadcasts than any television station in Oklahoma City with 53 ½ hours of news each week and the station remains a favorite for viewers proud to call Oklahoma home.
