28 Sep Tribune Media Company Charitable Foundation Contributes $50,000 to Hurricane Florence Relief Efforts
Television Stations in Greensboro, Richmond, Milwaukee, Indianapolis and Cleveland Raise Nearly $300,000 in Additional Contributions from Local Viewers
CHICAGO, Sept. 28, 2018—Tribune Media Company (NYSE: TRCO) today announced that its charitable foundation will contribute $50,000 to assist relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Florence. The foundation will contribute $25,000 to the Salvation Army, and $25,000 to The American Red Cross.
The contributions follow recent highly-successful fund-raising efforts at five Tribune Broadcasting television stations, including WGHP-TV (Greensboro), WTVR-TV (Richmond), WITI-TV (Milwaukee), WTTV-TV/WXIN-TV (Indianapolis), WJW-TV (Cleveland). Between them, the five local television stations raised close to $300,000 in additional contributions from viewers during telethons for the Salvation Army and Red Cross last week.
