26 Nov WGNO/ABC 26 “News With A Twist” Wins Emmy Award For Best On-Camera Medical Reporter
Dr. Rachel Reitan Honored by National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences
WGNO, the ABC Television Network affiliate for the greater New Orleans area, was awarded an Emmy® Award for Best On-Camera Medical Reporter. Dr. Rachel Reitan, News with a Twist’s medical correspondent, was honored by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) Suncoast Chapter with an Emmy® Award presented at a ceremony on November 23 in Hollywood, FL.
Dr. Rachel’s weekly segment, Dr. Rachel: The Teaching Doctor, takes complicated medical information and presents it in an easy to understand format, while teaching her patients and viewers simple ways to get and stay healthy. Her segment airs weekly on News with a Twist at 6p.
“Our team rocks!! Everyone is amazingly talented. I hope our educational messages are helping people live healthier lives,” said Dr. Rachel.
Dr. Rachel, an ob-gyn at Tulane University Hospitals and Clinic, Southeast Louisiana Veteran’s Administration Women’s Health, and The Jefferson Parish Coroner’s Office-Rape Division, joined News with a Twist in 2012.
News Director Rick Erbach stated, “Dr. Rachel and her team bring a fresh approach to medical reporting on a weekly basis. Her segments are fun, timely, and informative.”
Also receiving a nomination was “Wild” Bill Wood News with a Twist’s feature reporter. Wild Bill was nominated for his Feature News Report, 365 Days to “I Do.” Wild Bill, an 11-time Emmy winner, joined the News with a Twist staff in April 2013.
“Wild Bill’s one of a kind, creative, and lively reports engage our viewers. His stories are fun to watch and bring smiles and laughter into our viewer’s living room,” said Erbach.
